What?Little National Western (LNW) is Colorado State University's mock take on the prestigious National Western Stock Show held annually in Denver. LNW was one of the first ever events held at Colorado A&M and has been a long-standing tradition ever since!
Train, fit, and show your own animal. All animals will be provided by Colorado State University's Block and Bridle club. A one time registration fee is required to show. This fee goes towards the provision of the animals, their housing and feed. Showmen must attend one of two safety/training clinics held before they are allowed to practice. Those participating in the novice and experienced showmanship must always be under the supervision of a chairman while practicing with their show animal at ARDEC. LNW is open to all CSU students of any major. There are three showmanship divisions, novice (less than 2 years of experience), experienced (2 years of more of experience showing, and, new this year, chairman (experienced showman who is also currently serving as a chairman). LNW class, division, species, and round robin winners are judged solely on their showmanship skills. The amount of time and effort spent on practices will reflect how you perform in the show ring. If a species division is large enough, there will be class breaks for either the novice or experienced divisions. Those who place in the top three of their division will automatically qualify for the round robin competition. The round robin competition consists of the showman showing all species. The winner will accumulate scores for their performance with each specie and the winners are selected based upon these performances. |

Experienced Showmen: Do you miss showing? Do you need to get away from campus and miss spending hours out in the barn working with livestock? Sign up for LNW now! Chairmen: If you answered yes to the questions regarding the experienced portion, but also have a passion for teaching those how to show, then email Jordon or Tierney to become a chairman today! Where? All safety/training clinics, practices, and the show itself will be held at the Taylor Center at ARDEC. Car pools will be set up before the clinics and practices.
